‘Slap in the face’: Black legislators condemn University of Michigan’s DEI cuts

Today, March 25th, is Equal Pay Day, which unites us in our shared commitment to address the gender pay gap, especially the significant disparity women of color face. I am proud to collaborate and join with fellow members of the Progressive Women's Caucus, collectively reintroducing a 10-bill pay equity package. If passed, these bills would require:
- Pay transparency: You must post a salary when you post a job.
- Requiring employers to post about equal pay rights in the workplace.
- Allowing for anonymous reporting of wage discrimination.
-More notice of deductions for garnishments.
- Requires an employer to disclose wage information of similarly situated employees
within 30 days to requesting employees, the employer may redact the names of similarly situated employees but shall provide information about their sex and seniority.
- and more!
Everybody deserves equitable pay!
