Tsernoglou Uplifts Workers’ Rights After State of the State Address
LANSING, Mich., Feb. 26, 2026 — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer delivered her final State of the State address before a joint legislative session yesterday, setting forth her priorities for the year ahead. In her remarks, she highlighted potential investments in economic development, education and infrastructure.
After the address, state Rep. Penelope Tsernoglou (D-East Lansing) issued the following statement:
“I was honored to be joined by Steve Perry, Business Manager for local IBEW 352, and highlight the vital work unions do in protecting workers’ rights. I have long advocated for Michigan’s unions and working families because people deserve safe, healthy workplaces and a dignified, living wage. Recently, I’ve worked with labor partners to start to put guardrails around AI and put workers first. I hope we continue with this important work this coming year and get a budget that puts working families first.”
