Hello Neighbors,

Every spring, I like to shout out the great work being done at the Ypsilanti District Libraries throughout our district. Our libraries are such a wonderful community resource that I am still learning about new programing and opportunities each time I visit. One program that is really innovative is the “Library of Things,” which is a catalog of items for rental that encompass so many interests outside of what is normally associated with libraries.

Are you looking for…

Sewing or crocheting supplies? Available!

Exercise equipment? Check!

Boardgame collection? In stock!

Gardening equipment? Come check it out!

So if you have a project at home or in your community that you’ve been putting off due to needing to buy tools or equipment for a one time job, check out the “Library of Things”. And if you’re looking to try a new hobby, see if your closest library can point you in the right direction.

Thank you to everyone who makes our libraries the awesome and community-focused spaces they are!

In solidarity,

Immigration Town Hall Resources:

Thank you to everyone who attended our virtual town hall on immigration earlier this year. I was joined by special guests Washtenaw County Sheriff Alyshia Dyer and the Michigan American Civil Liberties Union as we discussed immigration rights and resources.
