March Teacher of the Month – Olivia Stawasz
Congratulations to our March Teacher of the Month, Olivia Stawasz! Olivia teaches health, psychology, and yoga at Charlotte High School.
To quote her nominator, “Ms. Stawasz truly deserves to be Teacher of the Month. Even in only her second year of teaching, she has already made a huge impact on students and the school community. She teaches Advanced Health, 9th Grade Health, Psychology, and a Low Impact Exercise class, and despite taking on two brand-new courses this year without any materials prepared beforehand, she has done an incredible job bringing energy, organization, and passion to every lesson. Beyond the classroom, Ms. Stawasz continues to support students by serving as the assistant coach for the CHS Girls Tennis Team. She is known for being caring, understanding, and always willing to listen when a student needs someone to talk to. Many students know that if they ever need support or encouragement, they can always stop by her room. Her dedication, positivity, and commitment to helping students succeed make Ms. Stawasz an outstanding teacher and a perfect choice for Teacher of the Month.”
Congratulations again, Olivia, and thank you for all that you do to support your students both inside and outside the classroom.

Legislative Update
My Bipartisan Bill Package to Modernize Michigan’s Drain Code
I have tried to help with this local issue. We need more transparency with our drain commission. Many Representatives and I have been working on legislation for almost a year to address transparency and petitions. I will continue working with both sides of the aisle in the House and the Senate on this important issue.
