LANSING, Mich., Oct. 3, 2022 — State Rep. Angela Witwer (Delta Township) partnered with ambassadors from Tri-County Office on Aging, Oasis Senior Advisors and AmeriCorp RSVP, among several other community organizations, to host a healthy aging fair on Saturday. The goal of the fair was to inform seniors about ways to remain active in the community, provide health and fitness resources, and share information on senior living.

“Our community wouldn’t be the great place that it is today without the residents who’ve devoted their entire lives to it,” Witwer said. “I was happy to host this fun and informative event as a way of giving back. I’m pleased to see how many residents enjoyed themselves and will benefit from the resources they gathered here today.”

A number of the resources offered at the fair help seniors find meaning and purpose through serving their community, which has been shown to promote healthy aging. Other resources included opportunities to stay physically active and care facilities that help promote independent lifestyles. Seniors also enjoyed a euchre tournament and several free giveaways at the fair.

“The Senior Health Fair at the Lansing Mall was a wonderful opportunity for our seniors to access information to live their best lives,” said Gloria Kovnot of the Savvy Seniors Social Group. “We appreciated everyone who stopped by our table and Rep. Witwer and her team for planning this special event.”
