State legislator recognizes Charlotte-based tree service business for immense work in the community

CHARLOTTE, Mich., Sept. 18, 2025 — On Monday, state Rep. Angela Witwer (Delta Twp.) presented Big Kid Tree Worx, LLC, with the August Small Business of the Month award for Michigan’s 76th House District, uplifting a business that has long protected homes and properties in the Charlotte area. Justin Brummette, owner of Big Kid Tree Worx, was nominated for his knowledgeable and customer-forward tree business.

“Justin and his dedicated staff time and time again display a deep-rooted commitment to the surrounding Charlotte communities, and those roots go beyond just trimming and pruning,” Witwer said. “They go above and beyond for their customers. With over ten years of experience taking care of hazardous trees before they fall, keeping trees healthy and giving back to the community, it was my honor to give back to them with this recognition.”

On top of offering tree care, Big Tree Worx regularly supports local non-profit fundraisers, sponsors concessions for Family Movie Nights at the Eaton Theatre and uplifts the local business community in Charlotte, Olivet and Nashville.

“Their nominator for this award attested that Justin was quick to go above and beyond to even fix a non-tree-related issue for their family when he came out to do an estimate,” Witwer continued. “His stand-up character makes him a true leader and example for small businesses across the state.”
