Michigan House passes bills providing more education on safe gun storage
Two bills passed by Democrats in the Michigan Legislature this week would require the state health department to develop information on safe gun storage to distribute to schools.

I am so happy to share that the Safe Homes, Safe Schools bill package, which I proudly sponsored alongside State Rep. Julie Brixie, has passed the House. This crucial legislation ensures that schools will now send home important information about Michigan’s new safe storage laws, helping keep our children and communities safer.
Ensuring that parents know the new rules regarding the safe storage of guns is one of the best ways we can protect our kids, both in our homes and our schools.

My bill strengthening the MiABLE program passed unanimously in the House Families, Children and Seniors Committee today! I'm proud to support this program, which allows individuals with disabilities to save money tax-free, helping them achieve greater independence and financial security.

My State Rep has done some amazing work! 👏👏👏
MiABLE gives people with disabilities the ability to save tax-free for a variety of essential expenses, from housing and healthcare to transportation and assistive technology, allowing individuals who became disabled before age 26 and their families to save up to $18,000 annually in various investment options.
