I had an opportunity to visit the Boulderdash target, where Talon Metals recently discovered a deposit of high-grade copper and nickel ore, bringing new potential and possibilities to many of the Upper Peninsula’s hard-working families. I am eager to see where this new discovery leads and will remain engaged with Talon as they plan for future operations. What definition of “sustainable “ is being used here? The economy is a human construct of the environment. We mustn’t confuse that for personal short-term gain.
Rural communities can experience health care deserts, including access to reproductive health. Governor Gretchen Whitmer is implementing a "Take Control of Your Birth Control" initiative, which will help make care more accessible. Community partner agencies will provide no-cost birth control, including over-the-counter oral contraceptive pills, emergency contraception, condoms and family planning educational resources.
