This morning, I took my Oath of Office for the 103rd Legislature, and vow to support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of Michigan.
I am honored to serve the people of Michigan and House District 56 and will dedicate myself to representing our state with integrity and purpose.

It was wonderful to celebrate the 2024 year with the Michigan Youth Cricket Academy! We will celebrate together again when the new Cricket Field is open in Troy in the spring of 2025. 🏏

I am proud of my colleagues State Representative John Fitzgerald, State Representative Kara Hope and State Representative Jenn Hill for championing "Jordan D's Law" and working to get them passed in lame duck.
There are some bills that just supersede any partisanship, especially bills protecting minors and vulnerable adults. Justice for Allie and Jordan D's Law are two of the easiest votes I have made in my tenure.
I continue to be disappointed that the Republican caucus cannot seem to put the needs of the people before their own agenda.

Yesterday, while Republicans abandoned the house floor during session, 100% of Democrats voted to ensure Michiganders have a "Freedom to Read". For those who aren't familiar with the board, Green is a "Aye", Red is a "Nay", and White is "Absent".

I am really proud that the Michigan House Democrats passed HB6058 to address health care costs for our teachers and public employees.
The legislation ensures that public employees will not pay more than 20% of their health insurance costs under renegotiated, renewed or extended collective bargaining agreements.
Republicans have taken the day off.

An unusual day at the House today: while having Friday session is uncommon, it is also uncommon to have all of the Republicans leave the chamber.

Thank you for all your hard work! It shouldn’t include dealing with a mass temper tantrum, though.
They left so the dems could not jam through bills with zero testimony while the citizens are sleeping. This is not the way to govern! The legislative process is not optional. Thank God the citizens voted the Dems out of power!

🚗⚡ Last year, the Michigan legislature passed my bill that unlocked $110 million in federal funding for EV charging infrastructure in Michigan! The first station built with these funds is now up and running in Lansing, available to all EV drivers. And this is just the beginning—many more stations are on the way! Let’s keep driving toward a cleaner, greener future.
