I had so much fun on Saturday night celebrating Lunar New Year with the Vietnamese American Association Of Michigan, especially handing out Lucky Money to the children.
There was so much talent and warm community spirit on display, and of course, lots of yummy food.
Happy New Year, everyone! #YearOfTheSnake

It was an honor to spend my morning at today's Troy MLK Citywide Day of Service. It was 6-degrees outside but couldn't have been warmer inside. Students, parents, educators and community members woke up early and braved the cold to hear inspirational speeches and work on service projects in honor of the lasting legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Thank you all for inviting me to be part of this beautiful gathering. #MLKMI ... Thank you for coming and showing your support for this early literacy initiative!
Three years ago, the Detroit Lions were rebuilding. Today, they’re Super Bowl contenders, embodying Detroit’s grit, resilience, and determination. My Democratic colleagues and I eagerly showed our support for the Lions on the House floor this week, and I cannot wait to cheer on the Honolulu Blue throughout the playoffs! #onepride ... I am overjoyed to announce that Governor Whitmer has signed my bill to expand MiABLE, the tax-free savings program for Michiganders with disabilities. This will allow an estimated 500,000 more Michiganders to save for expenses WITHOUT going over the income/asset threshold for federal disability benefits.
As the Chair of the Disability Caucus, I have heard too many stories of Michiganders with disabilities and their families struggling to afford their basic needs. There is much more work to be done in this area, but today's signing is a significant step in the right direction.

Hell yeah! Let's go Representative MacDonell and County Commissioner Gault!
Winter weather is here! To stay prepared and safe, check in on neighbors, charge your phone, locate flashlights, and follow local officials for updates.
Drive safely this winter! Check your tires for tread, keep your gas tank full, and ensure your vehicle is in good shape before heading out. On the roads, slow down, allow extra stopping distance, and don’t crowd snowplows.

Today I had the honor of recognizing Percent Coffee in Troy as my Small Business of the Month!
Percent has only been in business for a little while, but co-owners Nour and Rami have quickly turned it into one of Metro Detroit's most popular spots for fresh coffee and delicious sweets. Congratulations to them and the entire Percent Coffee team for this well-deserved recognition!
