Michiganders! If you’re having issues/problems with social security, you’re welcome to notify our Attorney General’s office. You can report it at this link.
In January, I went to my local social security office with questions about something I wasn’t sure would be a problem. I was a walk-in and waited about 45 minutes — which wasn’t a problem for me because I hadn’t scheduled an appointment. At one point they couldn’t access the information to help me (they were frustrated about that) and told me I’d have to make an appointment for a phone call with their main (?) office. They made the appointment for me for the next available time — about 6 weeks! The appointment was for 1:00 pm on a Friday. And someone did call me exactly at that time, and she was very helpful. My concern wasn’t urgent. HOWEVER, some people urgently need information and guidance.
If you’re having difficulty reaching social security or problems getting your SS check, you can report it at the link below.
FYI there is a social security office in our District 10. It’s located on 8-Mile Road between Beaconsfield (closer) and I-94. It’s phone number is 1-800-772-1213
