Olivet Fire Truck Pushing In Ceremony for New Fire Truck We recently celebrated the pushing-in ceremony for the new fire truck at the Olivet Fire Department. I was proud to help secure $1 million last term as the former chair of the House Appropriations Committee for the new fire truck, alongside Senate Appropriations Committee Chair Sarah Anthony. Our brave firefighters put their lives on the line time and time again to keep our community safe. I will continue doing everything in my power to make sure they have every support they need.
Participated in the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce Delta Township Roundtable I recently participated in the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce Delta Township roundtable event. I connected with our local business, education and community leaders and also provided an update on my work at the Capitol.
Spoke to the Eaton Rapids Youth in Government and Other High School Classes Last week, I visited students at Eaton Rapids High School to talk about state government and being a legislator. Thank you for having me as a guest speaker!
House 9/11 Ceremony at the Capitol Last week, the House of Representatives held our annual 9/11 Ceremony at the Capitol. I invited Delta Township Fire Chief John Kahler to join me as my guest on the House floor for the ceremony.

Register for upcoming PFAS webinars, taking place during Michigan’s first-ever PFAS Awareness Week The governor has proclaimed the week of Sept. 21-25, 2026, as Michigan PFAS Awareness Week, highlighting Michigan’s leadership in addressing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and urging continued focus on the environmental and health risks associated with these pollutants. Nearly a dozen in-person and online events ranging from film screenings to panel discussions are scheduled throughout the state during PFAS Awareness Week: Sept. 24, noon-1 p.m. Sept. 25, noon-1 p.m.

Legislative Update

Great news for Eaton County residents and businesses! Property owners burdened with the costs of the Bank Intercounty Drain project will receive relief in the next few months from a $2.5 million grant that I secured through the Michigan Department of Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE). You will either be mailed a partial refund if you’ve already paid in full, or you’ll see less due on your winter tax bill. This funding is part of $9.5 million total I’ve worked hard to bring home to relieve our community of the costs of this project — and I’m still working to put even more back in your pocket. |
