Winter weather is here—stay safe and ready!

Check on neighbors, charge your phone, and test your flashlights. Before hitting the road, make sure your car is in good shape: check your tires, keep the gas tank full, and drive carefully.

Follow local updates and stay prepared!

Your bill - HB5960 is both unneeded and a waste of taxpayers money. It is important to understand that licensing laws are primarily put in place because individuals in that industry advocate for them in order to block competition. Licensing laws establish fees, tests and training hours that limit the number of people eligible to work in a field. Interior design is NOT a health issue. There is no evidence that states establishing an interior design license see better health and safety results (Florida got rid of its law.) Consumers and businesses can decide for themselves if they want to hire an architect, project manager, licensed interior designer or unlicensed interior designer for their projects.

Merry Christmas! Wishing you a day filled with love, joy, and the warmth of family and friends. May we embrace the spirit of giving and togetherness as we celebrate this wonderful season. ... See MoreSee Less

Today, we passed bills to support victims of human trafficking. This package allows victims to be cleared of convictions for crimes they were forced to commit as a result of being trafficked and provides more protections for victims who are minors. I am proud to see this legislation advance, as we must ensure swift and just action for survivors and focus on bringing the true perpetrators to justice. ... See MoreSee Less

This week, I testified alongside my colleague, Veronica Paiz, MI State Representative , in favor of our common-sense #RightToRead legislation. These bills will restore local authority back to our public and district libraries, empowering them to make the decisions they believe will best impact their communities. Libraries are at the heart of our communities, providing information, programs, and services to everyone. Check out your local library, today! ... See MoreSee Less
