Today we remember the lives lost as a result of transphobia. Transgender Day of Remembrance began in 1999 as a way to honor the late Rita Hester, a trans woman who was tragically murdered in Massachusetts. There are those in our communities who struggle with the grief of a lost loved one or are feeling rejected and unsafe in the wake of anti-trans bills across the country. It is important to be united against discrimination and uplift those who are suffering.
If you are feeling unsafe or struggling with thoughts of suicide, you don’t have to face these feelings alone. TransLifeline.org operates a hotline in both English and Spanish and has a list of community resources to get you the assistance you need.

What are you doing for the next 8 days to protect our environment and people? Our trans kids and our schools? The next 8 days are essential and if you and the rest of the dems do not get as many progressive bills through as possible, we your constituents will remember at the next election. Don't just remember our fallen siblings. Act to protect them. Act to ensure education for our children so that the next generation may be less petty, fearful, and ignorant. If you fail to so much as try, there will be nothing you can do that will ever secure mine or my partners votes going forward.
Today, my bill to provide a one-time tax break to Michiganders for live organ donation expenses has been signed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer! As a state representative, it's been my goal to help make the organ donation process more accessible. I'm grateful that Michiganders are one step closer to receiving a one-time tax break of up to $10,000 for live organ donation expenses to reduce the financial strains of these life-changing and life-saving donations. ... NO on bill 6068. Stop the overreach on kids, learn where parental guidance and rights are compared to the constant overstepping. Your weird bill pushes trans agenda, waives clergy involvement, gives kids contraceptives behind their parent’s back, teaches masturbation and calls abortion “family planning”. There’s a reason everything went red
We're addressing #GunViolence one step at a time. Today, we're taking a strong stance against gun violence by introducing a bill that requires the complete destruction of firearms collected in buyback programs. We're ensuring these weapons never fall into the wrong hands. Together, we can create a safer community for everyone. ... See MoreSee Less

Patriot Day. In honor and remembrance. 2001 - 2024.
23 years ago we watched as 2,753 people at the world trade center, 184 members of the pentagon, and 40 individuals outside of Shanksville, Pennsylvania all gave their lives for our country. First responders bravely gave their lives protecting citizens of our country, and other proud patriots joined them in the fight to protect their fellow Americans. Today, we honor the lives lost as a result of the attacks on 9/11, and all of the lives that followed as a result of the aftershocks on our country. May the members of every community find togetherness in their remembrance, and may we as a country never forget.
