I am very excited to share that Memorial Healthcare will be expanding into downtown Flushing. Since Rite Aid closed its two locations in Flushing, residents have been very frustrated with finding new options. Now, Flushing will have better access to:
✅ Family Medicine
✅ Urgent Care
✅ Pharmacy
✅ Rotating Specialty Services (Orthopedics & General Surgery)
✅ Laboratory & Radiology

To be an effective representative, you can’t just show up a few weeks before elections. You need to meet people where they are and sometimes the best place to do that is their front porch.

We live in Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society. Fifty years ago, President Johnson signed into law the creation of Medicare and Medicaid. He invited former President Harry Truman, who had been a champion for universal healthcare, to sit with him and receive the first Medicare card. These programs have been a lifeline for hundreds of millions of Americans over the past half century. As Republicans seek to cut and defund Medicare and Medicaid, we will continue to work to expand healthcare for all Americans.

One week ago, I received the call that Genesee County lost our best chance for revitalization because of “economic uncertainty” caused by the Trump administration. My reflection:
