Happy 4th, Everyone! I hope everyone can celebrate our nation's 250th with friends and family today. While having fun, please keep safety in mind and look out for one another.
Many in our community are without power and the heat will cause challenges across our region. Add in fireworks, open flames, beers, boats, sun, etc., and you can see why this is a busy time of year for Emergency Departments!

I’ve heard loud and clear from constituents—if data centers are going to be built in our communities, we need strong, commonsense protections in place.
The Data Center Guardrail package moves us in the right direction by requiring transparency, establishing meaningful community benefit agreements, protecting ratepayers from unfair costs, and ensuring local voices are heard in the decision-making process. As IBEW’s Jonathan Current said, these projects can bring opportunity, but only if they’re developed in a way that invests, respects, and includes the communities nearby.
I’m proud to support this effort and will continue working alongside my colleagues and constituents to ensure responsible, community-centered development.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Office Hours yesterday in Texas Township. We had a great conversation about the state budget, heard concerns on a range of local issues, and learned more about the upcoming Texas Township fire millage. I appreciate everyone who took the time to share their perspectives.
Our next Office Hours will be Friday, August 2 at the Texas Township Fire Department from 10:30am to 12pm.
