NO on bill 6068. Stop the overreach on kids, learn where parental guidance and rights are compared to the constant overstepping. Your weird bill pushes trans agenda, waives clergy involvement, gives kids contraceptives behind their parent’s back, teaches masturbation and calls abortion “family planning”. There’s a reason everything went red
Our children can’t even read but sure let’s feed them birth control at school and teach them gender ideology as priority with bills such as 6068
Get a head start on holiday shopping and support local talent! 🎁✨ For the first time ever, the library is opening its meeting room to showcase amazing Michigan-made creations for Shop Small Saturday. Today, my Michigan Hate Crime Act finally passed the House. This effort is the culmination of 2 years of relentless, grueling efforts, fits and starts, painful setbacks, shocking turns, and much more to be recounted in my eventual memoir. 🤣 As a Jew and a gay man representing one of the most diverse communities in Michigan in Greater West Bloomfield — this bill has always been my #1 fight. I have never given up on this fight against rising hate crimes — and I never will. In 1988, a Republican Jewish state representative from West Bloomfield sponsored Michigan’s ethnic intimidation act. I didn’t know that until last year. It feels like bashert — now, for me to take the baton, to strengthen that existing law into a gold standard anti-hate crime law for every other state to follow. This is West Bloomfield’s legacy and this is the legacy I inherit. Today, I am proud. And then we go right back to work. Onwards to the State Senate and to Governor Whitmer! ... See MoreSee Less

I am horrified by the targeted mob violence perpetrated against Jews and Israelis in Amsterdam last night — and on the eve of the anniversary of Kristallnacht, no less. The reticence of governments and institutions across the globe — from the Netherlands to universities here in America — to take targeted violence against Jews seriously, to call out and reprimand purveyors of hate speech and hate violence is part of why we are at this point. Here in Michigan, as we transition to a new Republican majority in the House of Representatives, I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to redouble
our efforts to take on anti-Jewish rhetoric and violence, including passing the Michigan Against Antisemitism Act in the new term.

Today is a new day and the sun still rose. ☀️ I am here in Lansing for our first day of House session since September. Since the GOP took the majority in the State House, we will vote on the new Democratic Minority Leader and Floor Leader. Then, we will begin the lame duck session, passing legislation to enshrine and codify rights for Michiganders. I’m still here — fighting. ... See MoreSee Less
