Another fatal explosion in a hyperbaric chamber, this time in Arizona. My heart goes out to the victim, his family, and everyone affected by this tragedy. We MUST take action to ensure patient and worker safety in hyperbaric oxygen facilities. I am proud to be working with State Senator Stephanie Chang on legislation to do just that.

Thank you to all who attended yesterday's town hall on the looming federal budget cuts. People aren't just angry about the coming cuts - they're scared about what it will mean for their loved ones. When your nearest hospital closes, your child loses special education services, or your mom’s nursing home can’t care for her anymore, this cruel budget bill will be to blame. And to make matters worse, Speaker Matt Hall and other Republican leaders in Michigan are fully behind it. My constituents will not forget who did this to them.

Last week, I recognized Gilda's Club Metro Detroit in Royal Oak as my June Nonprofit of the Month!
We celebrate the staff and volunteers for their unwavering commitment to ensuring that no one faces cancer alone. Through social and emotional support, they uplift those affected by cancer in our community and never charge a fee. Royal Oak and the surrounding community are fortunate to have such a powerful force of care and compassion in our neighborhood. Congratulations to the entire Gilda's Club team for this modest but well-deserved recognition!
Many thanks to Jeanne Deneweth for nominating Gilda’s Club. If you have a favorite small biz or nonprofit that you'd like to see recognized in the future, please nominate them at the link below!

July 1 ended not with a bang, but with Speaker Matt Hall's whimper.
The Michigan State House Republican Majority brought us nothing to vote on and missed Michigan's budget deadline. Their failure is Michigan's loss. If they only spent more time working on the budget and less time hanging out in Washington DC, flirting with Trump, maybe we could have gotten something done. And don't let them tell you this is about the senate. House Speaker Matt Hall said he didn't need Democrats to get the job done and then he FAILED MISERABLY. #savePublicEducation #LetsGettoWork #Resist Contact Michigan House Republicans gophouse.org/members and tell them to get to work!

At the recent Arc of Oakland County's Annual Advocacy Celebration, I participated in meaningful conversations and heard powerful stories about what Medicaid truly means to individuals with disabilities and their families. What I heard wasn’t about politics or budgets, it was about people’s lives, challenges, and hopes. Just read these messages.
I was furious today to hear that the U.S. Senate passed devastating cuts to Medicaid and other social services. These cuts will destroy the lives of thousands of Michiganders with disabilities who rely on this support for everyday life.
It will continue to be my mission to reverse the damage brought by this horrifically cruel decision.
