Today, I had the honor of recognizing Trevarrow Ace Hardware in Troy as my May Small Business of the Month!
First founded as Trevarrow Plumbing on Woodward Avenue in 1928, the business prospered for many years before eventually incorporating hardware and moving to its current location on Long Lake Road in Troy in 1976, where it has continued to flourish ever since. Co-owners Dennis and Donna pride themselves on serving Troy and the surrounding community with personalized service, trusted advice, and quality products for all. Congratulations to them and the entire Trevarrow Ace Hardware team for this well-deserved recognition!

Earlier this month, I was proud to recognize the Ridgedale Players as my May Non-Profit of the Month!
Since their founding in 1931, the Ridgedale Players have given Troy and surrounding communities the valuable opportunity to both attend and participate in quality theatrical works. Their dedication to providing a rich cultural experience to the community, uplifting local talent, and making the arts accessible is a testament to their lasting impact on the community. Congratulations again to Scott and the entire Ridgedale Players team for this well-deserved recognition!

Congratulations to Troy's very own Bemis Elementary for winning the 2025 National Math Pentathlon First Place Gold Trophy!
Through incredible teamwork, sharp problem-solving, and academic excellence, Bemis outperformed thousands of students nationwide across all three competition divisions to win this outstanding honor. Not only did they meet the rigorous requirements needed to win, but they also achieved the highest team score from Michigan in 24 years! I’m incredibly proud of their hard work and can’t wait to see what these talented students accomplish next!
