This week I introduced legislation that would give adults with developmental disabilities and their loved ones more options when finding the support system that's right for them. Court-appointed guardianships are appropriate for some, but not for everyone.
In 2023, Dearborn Heights resident Linda VanWormer became the first Michigander put under a less restrictive arrangement called "supported decision making" by a judge. My legislation would expand this option to all Michiganders with developmental disabilities.
