If Republicans in Washington succeed in cutting Medicaid, thousands of Michgianders with disabilities will suffer. This nonprofit in my district is sounding the alarm. #HandsOffMedicaid ... See MoreSee Less

This week I introduced legislation that would give adults with developmental disabilities and their loved ones more options when finding the support system that's right for them. Court-appointed guardianships are appropriate for some, but not for everyone.

In 2023, Dearborn Heights resident Linda VanWormer became the first Michigander put under a less restrictive arrangement called "supported decision making" by a judge. Today, I stood in solidarity on the Capitol steps with members of the LGBTQ Caucus as they read Rep. Jason Morgan's resolution declaring June 2025 as Pride Month. I’m disappointed by House Republicans’ refusal to adopt the resolution, breaking with years of precedent set by their own prior majorities. I’m proud to stand up for LGBTQ Michiganders and will continue fighting for the equality, dignity, and recognition they deserve. ... See MoreSee Less

Republicans want to gut the #1 health insurer for working people, and Democrats want to strengthen it. It's that simple. Medicaid is essential for 1 in 4 Michiganders, and I am committed to defending it everywhere. #HandsOffMedicaid ... See MoreSee Less

Michigan House Republicans are dragging their feet with a budget, breaking the law by not getting their job done. I think they're planning to shut down the government, so they want to push negotiations to the last possible constitutional minute. #mileg #magachaos #doyourjob ... See MoreSee Less

Today, on Juneteenth, we honor the legacy of Black Americans whose strength and sacrifice helped shape our country. Juneteenth is a time to reflect and recommit to the ongoing work for racial equity and justice. #Juneteenth #FreedomDay ... See MoreSee Less
