Just in time for Women’s History Month, MI House Republicans are pushing a resolution that jeopardizes the voting rights of millions of Michigan women. Their resolution could force married women to pay up to $200 just to prove their citizenship and register to vote. That’s a poll tax—and I won’t stand for it. #PinkPollTax ... See MoreSee Less

This is an extremely Orwellian event and messaging. Repub Rep Ann Bolin told the Detroit News the below, but if this is NOT a budget plan, then why is the appropriations not meeting next week to WORK ON THE BUDGET? Because this IS the budget. "This is the beginning of the process," Bollin said. "This is what we absolutely have to provide. We don't want our kids starving. We want to make sure they're safe in school, they're educated and they have resources. That's what is in this budget bill that just went over. It's not a budget bill. It's a prevention plan."

I had the privilege of hosting my constituent and superstar advocate Allie Hayes during Tuesday's Voices in Action disability advocacy day. She met with me to discuss the importance of Medicaid to Michigan's disability services and the harmful impact that cutting Medicaid would have. If you want to share your story about how Medicaid has helped you, fill out this form from the Michigan Developmental Disabilities Council. www.surveymonkey.com/r/XNDFJ6Q ... See MoreSee Less
