Energy demands and utility bills are climbing. We need solutions that will bring cheaper, clean energy to the grid as quick as possible.
That's why I am proud to introduce HB 6408 & 6410 with State Representative Morgan Foreman to enable virtual power plants. Virtual power plants use cloud-based systems to draw power from rooftop solar, at-home batteries and even electric vehicles during peak demand times.
Virtual power plants prevent the need to use 'peaker' power plants - the dirtiest, most expensive forms of power needed on the hottest days of the summer. By pooling other energy sources, we can save customers money.
