⚓️🌊 Our Local Lakes, Local Voices Town Hall right here in Sylvan Lake last week enabled me to connect with constituents all about our inland lakes! We were joined by experts from EGLE, DNR, the Michigan Lakes and Streams Association, and the Oakland County Sheriff's Office. Advocating for the health and safety of our inland lakes — from Union Lake to Square Lake — will always be a top priority for me as your state representative. I look forward to joining my friend and colleague, State Representative Jennifer Conlin, in making our Local Lakes, Local Voices tour an annual event in both of our house districts. Stay tuned for our announcement of new legislation this fall! ... See MoreSee Less

One thing I did not have on my bingo card in 2025 was someone bringing me a mason jar filled with their smelly cyanobacteria-laden lake water! 🤢🫣🤣

But algal blooms are a huge problem on our inland lakes! Check out EGLE’s resources if your lake is struggling with excess nutrients. 🔗 www.michigan.gov/egle/about/organization/water-resources/glwarm/harmful-algal-blooms
