Today, the Michigan State House hosted our annual ceremony commemorating the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, attacks. We gathered in remembrance of the hundreds of police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and military personnel who sacrificed their lives on that tragic day.
I was deeply honored to have Captain Michael Khoury with the Hazel Park Fire Department join me as my guest for the ceremony. It was a privilege to recognize Captain Khoury alongside Michigan's dedicated first responders who courageously serve our communities every single day. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Had a fantastic time today connecting with neighbors and checking out the open house hosted by our Warren Police and Fire Departments. Huge thanks to our first responders for keeping our families safe and putting on such a great event for everyone to enjoy!

Hi I'm Lavender and I am a very sensitive pupper. I'm about 2 years old, spayed and utd on shots. I have been here 4 months and I am still to scared to go outside. I am super friendly, I love everyone and have been starting to play a bit. I also get very nervous by myself and bark and whine till someone comes see me. They say I would probably be better in a home with loving people so they are trying to find a rescue to take me so that I can get into a foster home. I don't know what any of that means but I know I will be the best pup ever when I can get out of here. So please share me with any rescues you know or if you would like to meet me please call HPACS @ 248-546-4096. Please share.

Honored to stand with our local Scouts and firefighters for tonight’s 9/11 Day of Remembrance and Flag Retirement Ceremony in Madison Heights. 🇺🇲
It was moving to watch our young Scouts carry out the tradition of honorably retiring worn American flags, and a privilege to gather with neighbors to reflect and remember the lives lost on September 11. Thank you to everyone who came out and to all those who helped organize tonight's event.

I'm so tired of reading headlines designed to make us fear our neighbors. Whether our families have been here for generations, or we’re newer to the community, we have so much more in common than we’re sometimes led to believe.
There are people who profit (financially and politically) from turning neighbors against each other and making everyday local issues into wedges that divide us. We can choose not to play along.
At the end of the day, all working people are facing the exact same struggles: high prices at the pump and the grocery store, the constant stress of finding affordable healthcare and housing, and wanting safe schools and communities for our kids.
Talk to your neighbors. Get to know the people in your community. Our differences don’t make our neighborhoods weaker—they make them stronger. Link in the comments. ...

It was great to join Mayor Corey K. Haines and so many members of our community for a fantastic celebration of Asian culture and heritage. Loved seeing such a big crowd come out to enjoy the performances and incredible variety of food.

This week, I joined legislators from across the country for Inseparable’s Mental Health Policy Academy!
Inseparable is a national advocacy organization dedicated to advancing policies that expand access to care, improve crisis response, strengthen the mental health workforce, and support youth mental health.
Expanding access to vital mental healthcare resources has been a top priority of mine, ensuring that every Michigander has the support they need to thrive. Tackling these challenges takes strong collaboration, which is why it was so valuable to connect with lawmakers from other states.
It was great to attend alongside Michigan Senator Sylvia Santana and Representatives Julie Rogers and John Roth. We're bringing those conversations and ideas back to Michigan because there’s still so much more we can do to make mental healthcare easier to access for everyone who needs it. ...
