I’m happy to recognize Kozy Lounge as our May Business of the Month!

Each month, I highlight a local small business in our district that helps make our communities stronger, through community involvement, local investment, and taking pride in what they do. Kozy Lounge is a great example of that spirit right here in Hazel Park.

With a great selection of food and the kind of personal service you can only get from a local spot, Kozy Lounge makes sure every customer has a great experience. Be sure to check them out and support a great local business!

This CPR & AED Awareness Week, I'm highlighting the lifesaving power of quick action and accessible equipment. Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and CPR can mean the difference between life and death. Let's make sure they're available and supported in every community. ... See MoreSee Less

It was great to see two members of Warren Professional Firefighters Local 1383 in Lansing today for Firefighters Advocacy Day.

I also had the opportunity to meet with a firefighter from the Harper Woods Fire Department who is also a constituent. We talked about the challenges first responders face on the job, including mental health and PTSD. That's why I've been proud to work on bipartisan legislation to better support first responders dealing with PTSD and ensure they can access the care they need.

Thank you to all of our firefighters for everything you do to keep our communities safe and for advocating on behalf of firefighters across Michigan.

It was great to join UAW Region 1 for their annual Blessing of the Bikes in Warren. With warmer weather here, it's officially motorcycle season in Michigan!

As more riders hit the road, it's a good reminder for all of us to stay alert, look twice, and always watch for motorcycles while driving. Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable riding season ahead!

Just back from the Detroit Regional Chamber’s Mackinac Policy Conference!

This annual conference brings together business, government, labor, nonprofit, and community leaders from across the state, making it the perfect place to exchange ideas, build partnerships, and find common ground on solutions to the challenges our state faces.

Honored to represent the 14th House District and bring our community’s perspective to these critical discussions. By continuing the hard work and pulling together, we will keep Michigan moving in the right direction.

I stand in solidarity with UAW Local 2093 and the workers at American Axle Manufacturing in Three Rivers as they continue bargaining for a fair contract before their current agreement expires on May 31.

For decades, these workers have helped power Michigan’s manufacturing economy and keep our auto industry moving. In 2008, many made major sacrifices to help keep this facility open during one of the toughest economic periods our state has faced. Nearly two decades later, too many workers are still working to recover lost wages and benefits while the company has continued to see strong profits.

Michigan workers deserve fair wages, strong benefits, retirement security, and the dignity that comes with sharing in the success they help create every day. It’s time for American Axle to come to the table with the UAW International Union and reach a fair agreement.

American Axle workers are a vital part of Michigan’s manufacturing legacy, and I’m proud to stand with UAW Local 2093 in solidarity.
