The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) has issued a Lead Action Level Exceedance for the City of Livonia. This press release from the mayor explains the situation and precautions. The city, Wayne County Department of Health, Human and Veterans Services, and the MI Department of Health & Human Services are planning an event for outreach and education, but specific details are still pending.

The Congressional Black Caucus hosted another great Annual Legislative Conference this year. It was an opportunity to connect with members of the Michigan delegation and legislators across the nation.
After wrapping up the conference, Speaker Tate joined me and other members of the delegation for a visit outside the White House, where we reflected on key takeaways from the conference and how we can turn them into action for Michiganders and communities across the nation. #CBC2024

I had the chance to speak on their panel about my Post Traumatic Prison Disorder (PTPD) legislation to mandate mental health support for returning citizens.
