Silence shouldn't be the scariest part of surviving a crime.

I introduced the Crime Victim Communication Modernization Act — a bipartisan bill to make sure victims get real-time updates, not radio silence.

Because in moments of crisis, clear communication isn’t a luxury. It’s a lifeline.

Since Michigan House Republicans refuse to acknowledge June as LGBTQ+ Pride Month in our state, my colleagues and I decided to do it ourselves. We stand united together, fighting for the rights of all Michiganders, and that includes members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Today, the bipartisan Public Transit Caucus held its first meeting of this term.

49 members from both parties and every corner of Michigan — rural, suburban, and urban — have joined us to deliver real solutions to our transit providers and communities who rely on them. Whether you drive, bike, take the bus, or wish you had more options, how you get around affects your daily life.

As co-chair of the caucus, I'm proud to lead this effort and am looking forward to continuing conversations on how to build a comprehensive transportation plan across our state.

While the Michigan House Republicans continue to stall on the K-12 and higher education budgets, I think it's important to highlight just some of their dangerous plans that would negatively impact every single community across the state. In our community, Ann Arbor, Northville Public Schools, Plymouth-Canton, South Lyon Community School District, and Ypsilanti School District would all lose out on funding for mental health and school safety investments. ... The fight isn’t over. While Republicans continue weaponizing your rights for political gain, Democrats remain vigilant in protecting reproductive freedom — and we’re not done yet. ... See MoreSee Less

House Republicans are backing the largest health care and food assistance cuts in U.S. history. That means:

✘ 2.7M Michiganders lose health care.

✘ 1.4M lose SNAP.

✘ $2.3B lost for MI hospitals.

All to pay for billionaire tax breaks. Just like how Trump is giving his billionaire buddies the biggest tax breaks in recent history.
