Today I got to visit some amazing 1st graders in South Lyon! We read Oh the Places You’ll Go, by Dr. Seuss, one of my favorite books about perseverance and strength, empowering every child, even when times get tough. Special thanks to the school staff, teachers, and principal for helping to raise the next generation of leaders in Michigan! #marchisreadingmonth

Every state is facing a teacher shortage, yet Trump & Musk are making it worse by gutting the Department of Education. MI Republicans are following suit, slashing the school budget by 25%. We need more for our kids, not less.

So sad and unbelievable.
I know of 2 times that schools where embezzlement cases happened nothing but a slap on the wrist happens. As veterans rights are being violated to the point of joining the 22
It was great meeting with both MSU Extension/AgBio folks from Washtenaw County and the South Lyon Methodists. Even through a busy week, its great to sit down with leaders from the community and discuss ways to better the lives of Michiganders.

Just in time for Women’s History Month, the MI House Republicans are putting the voting rights of millions of women at risk. Their resolution could force married women to pay up to $200 just to prove their citizenship and register to vote. That’s a poll tax. #pinkpolltax

Michiganders are sick of the chaos—sick of a Michigan Republican budget that eliminates 100% of mental health funding, cuts education by $5 BILLION, ends funding for ALL OUR UNIVERSITIES, shuts down the Secretary of State, and destroys the very services that keep our water clean and our communities safe. Sick of extremists in Washington putting their own power over the people they serve.
Over 1,000 fired-up people came to last night’s townhall to make their voices heard. And the people aren’t backing down. The energy and engagement in this room proves that people are paying attention, and they’re ready to fight for a government that works for them.

Fight for us Jason!! People don't realize the effects of what we are losing!! Will cripple the economy, but worse our children will suffer!

On Thursday, MI House Republicans’ government shutdown plan uses our kids as pawns in their political games. I voted NO on slashing funding for school lunches, literacy support, and health care. Republicans made it evident that they do not care about our children.

Michigan House Republicans idea of a good spending plan means taking away crucial free school lunches and cutting funding for public safety, which is exactly what they did today when they surprised everyone with a budget with no notice or time to read through it.

How do we stop this? We were already $4,000,000,000 short of pre-covid funding adequacy per David Arsen et al.
Elections have consequences, they need to treat you exactly how they were treated the last 4 years, its your turn to sit down and shut up, no hearings for you!!! The democrats passed unconstitutional gun bills for the last 4 years, they passed hundreds of bills after the last election during the lame duck session without listening to our republican representatives, you deserve to be treated the same way!!! Fafo!
