💚🌿 Introducing the John Sinclair Act 🌿💚
I’m proud to introduce the John Sinclair Act, legislation to remove cannabis from Michigan’s Controlled Substances List. This bill is about justice, fairness, and aligning our laws with the progress we’ve already made on cannabis reform. 🚫⚖️
Outdated scheduling continues to create confusion and unfair penalties, as seen in cases like People v. Kejbou and People v. Soto. By descheduling cannabis, we can end these contradictions and ensure no one is punished for legal cannabis-related activities.
Named after activist John Sinclair, this act honors his fight for reform and aims to end systemic inequalities that disproportionately affect communities of color and low-income individuals. It’s time to bring clarity and justice to Michigan’s cannabis laws. ✊

I’m proud to partner with State Representative Graham Filler (R-Duplain Township) on a bipartisan bill package to support and protect domestic violence survivors and their families across Michigan. These bills tackle gaps in our legal system, expand protections through personal protection orders, and safeguard survivor rights in the workplace, ensuring access to unemployment benefits and earned sick time.

It’s saddening,when you’ve been with someone for as long as 5years only to discover that he has been cheating all this while and hiding dark secrets about himself. My husband has been acting strange for a long time and he do comes back lates and drunk and will hit me serveral times in front of the kids and even tore my clothes and make me naked in his friends front,everyday I was reminded that I’m nothing to him and was not worth fighting for,I wasn’t allowed to visit my friends or family,if I did or wanted to I had to be ready to get beaten or abuse by my so called husband. I’m thrilled to share that the City of Ypsilanti has been awarded a Shared Streets and Spaces Grant through the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT)! 🚶♀️🚲🚌
This grant is part of MDOT’s $6.5 million initiative to support projects that make our communities more walkable, bikeable, and transit-friendly, creating safer and more accessible streets for people of all ages and abilities. 🌟
🏙️ What does this mean for Ypsilanti?
✅ Quick-build projects designed to improve mobility and connectivity.
✅ Streets reimagined as civic spaces that support everyone, no matter how they get around.
✅ A step toward equitable, innovative, and sustainable urban design.

……. Blinks….. uhhhh Xylazine test strips are still illegal across the state and we are awaiting 5178 and 5179 to decrim them and possession- as well as provide health services. Also, banning a substance only criminalizes it more. We have more and more Xylazine than ever.
Our children can’t even read with 3rd grade Mstep scores as all time low, but sure let’s feed them birth control at school and teach them gender ideology as priority with bills such as 6068
