March is Reading Month, and it’s always my favorite thing when I can visit our scholars! ✨📚 The 3rd stop of my reading month tour was last week at Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership Academy! Their energy and curiosity remind me why Reading Month is so special. 💡💙 Stay tuned for our next stops! 🚍📖

It was great to stop in and see what the West Michigan Whitecaps are up to! ⚾️🏟️
I grew up in a baseball house, so I remember catching games with my dad. 💙 They’re working to keep baseball a family tradition while also making it a fun night out for young professionals.
This season, watch out for new decks, club access, and lounges being added! Who wants to check out a game? 👏🏟️

Excited to reintroduce a package that focuses on pay equity with my colleagues. 💼
Yesterday, we introduced a 10-bill Pay
Equity Package 📜💪 that provides common-sense solutions to close wage gaps and ensure fairness in the workplace. It’s time for Michigan workers to be paid what they deserve. 🏙️💵
We want people to stay in Michigan, thrive in their careers 💼, and have high-quality working conditions. That starts with pay equity for people of color, for women, and for all Michiganders!

Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to join Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist and the team at AYA Youth Collective for a powerful discussion on youth homelessness, the MI foster care system, and housing solutions. 🏠✨ AYA is doing critical work every day to support young people by equipping them with the tools they need. Their commitment to providing stability and opportunity for Michigan’s youth is inspiring. We must keep pushing for real solutions that ensure every young person has a safe place to call home and opportunities for a bright future.
