Thank you to the City of Berkley - Government & Community Services for allowing me to present last night. During the city council meeting, I shared an overview of the FY 2024-25 state budget and vital funding that will support our local communities. It was great to begin the new year with my former colleagues and our constituents in Berkley!

Despite the use of partisan tactics to wear them down, Michigan Senate Democrats are continuing to fight for Michiganders like you and me. I am incredibly grateful for my Senate colleagues who worked late into the night and came right back this morning to support the people of our state. Thank you.

Thanks to all of you for your unceasing efforts on our behalf!
As a former teacher who left my career due to the cost of child care for two kids under age two, the child care crisis our state is facing hits close to home, as I know it does for so many of us. I am grateful for the productive discussions we had in the Tax Policy Committee last week as we heard testimony on HBs 5637-5639.

Thank you to the members of End Gun Violence Michigan for supporting our fight to #EndGunViolence. This week, State Representative Felicia Brabec and I spoke in committee to support our bill package, HBs 6144-6146. Ensuring that guns that are surrendered to law enforcement officers will be properly disposed of.
I appreciate the work coalitions like this one have done to support our communities!

“Gun violence” does not exist, only violence committed by humans. The term was created by anti gun advocates to place blame on an inanimate and amoral objects where it should be placed on the human. They require a human to make decisions and operate. Childish to blame them for human behavior. Focus on the human in control. The vast majority of what the left calls “Gun violence” is centered in a few zip codes in densely populated democrat-controlled cities. Their policies contribute to poverty and generational government dependence, single parent homes, and lawlessness. Remove the numbers from five cities from America and our homicide numbers plummet.
Only a total moron believes that criminals and those planning mass murder follows any laws, much less gun laws or bans. Gun laws only affect the law abiding. Do you?
