Today is #WorldDyslexiaDay! A day to educate and celebrate diversity in learning. We've passed new legislation that focuses on early support for students with dyslexia. Our efforts to provide targeted resources for students with reading challenges are helping to break down barriers and give kids confidence in learning and life.

MCCC breaks ground on new Welch Center for Health and Public Safety
I’m thrilled to celebrate the expansion of MCCC and the new Welch Center for Health and Public Safety! I fought for this funding because it will equip more students to pursue careers in health care and public safety AND create a stronger, healthier and safer future for Monroe County and Michigan.

When kids read with confidence, they learn with confidence. That's why I helped pass bills to screen students for dyslexia characteristics early and provide them with the curricula they need to succeed.

You are a walking talking contradiction. Last year you voted to eliminate third grade reading requirements and today this. I guess this is why you've adopted the "Vote blue no matter who" mantra. God forbid people do a little research.

I am proud to have voted today for legislation that redirects money back to kids, teachers, and schools and increases funding for school safety and mental health.
