The nine bills my Senate colleagues sued House Speaker Matt Hall to present to the Governor, were finally delivered and unfortunately were vetoed. 😥 On Wednesday Senate and House Dems held a press conference announcing the re-introduction of all nine bills.
Because The Speaker held the bills up - ones to help workers and provide options to help fund the Detroit Historical Society and the Charles H Wright Museum of African American History - and he's still the Speaker, there's virtually no chance these bill will come up for a vote this Session.
Just know they will be a priority next session for House Dems and Senate Dems.🇺🇸💙

I’m proud to be a sponsor of one of Grandmont’s most cherished traditions: the 46th Annual Grandmont Arts, Crafts & Culture Fair, taking place next Saturday, Aug. 1, from 1–7 p.m. at Douglas Ramsay Park, 14800 Longacre Street.
This free community event is open to everyone, and it will feature local artists and creative partners, handmade goods, unique vendors, food trucks, live music, dancing, interactive art experiences, face painting, family activities and health screenings.

An estimated 31,200 people experience homelessness in Michigan each year — and from 2021 to 2022, homelessness across our state increased by 8 percent. With housing costs continuing to rise, too many of our neighbors are being pushed into crisis.
We must continue working together to provide real support and resources for our unsheltered neighbors.
