I will be participating in two town halls on election security and voting rights in Michigan. This provides two opportunities for you to engage in meaningful conversations about how Michigan’s election system works. The first opportunity is with Congresswoman Debbie Dingell and the Washtenaw County Delegation at Washtenaw Community College. The second town hall is hosted by my office and is in Hamburg Township. There are so many days where I wish I could be two places at the same time! Today was one of those days. I wanted to be at the Dexter Summer Festival Parade, an annual event I love. But I also wanted to attend Citizen Yoga in the Big House. Rep. Debbie Dingell also wanted to be at both so we went to the parade and sent my daughter and husband to the Yoga event which was all about mental health and human connection, including a partnership with Garrett's Space. Thanks for being our doppelgängers!

It was great last night, as always, to connect with the members of the Huron River Chain Of Lakes Association at their annual pizza party. Sen. Theis also attended the event at the American Legion in Pinckney and we did a brief Q and A on some environmental issues. One fun addition this year was an interactive Watershed Game to educate community members on how local land use impacts water quality, nonpoint source pollution, and lake health.

Last evening, I attended the 2026 Northfield Township National Night Out with Rep. Debbie Dingell. The free, annual event is
aimed at strengthening police-community partnerships and features both the Police and Fire Departments and lots of activities for families. All in all, a great night out especially given the perfect weather yesterday!

Saturday, I attended the Annual Ann Arbor Pride hosted in tandem with the Jim Toy Community Center. It was such an honor to celebrate with my fellow elected officials and the LGBTQ community and their allies on the streets of Ann Arbor! Please know we are here to protect your rights and will refuse to go backward when it comes to equality in Michigan! 🏳️🌈

Yesterday, I was in Lansing for an Oversight Committee and was able to stop by the Stolen Lives picnic on the lawn at the Capitol, honoring Prescribed Harm Awareness Day and the Antidepressant Risks that come with treatment. So many people with mental health issues—including many veterans with PTSD—take their own lives while on prescription drugs when therapy would be a better and safer alternative. Parents of victims emotionally testified to the loss of their family members during this very educational event.

These nine bills are more than headlines; they’re real solutions to deliver economic security and access to healthcare for working families. I will continue to support the reintroduction of these bills until they’re signed into law.

Earlier this month, I had a wonderful meeting with the amazing Eileen Zilch, the CEO and President of Community Catalysts. It is a non-profit that provides share-equity home ownership opportunities to individuals and families. Based in Howell, she told me all about their latest project that is now a reality. They are in the process of developing Livingston County’s first Community Land Trust! I can’t wait to see how this CLT will help the community and promise to help in any way I can at the state-level! Congrats and thank you for your much-needed work on our housing shortage!

Six Michigan American Legion posts are collecting donations for victims of severe flash flooding in West Virginia (including American Legion Post 235 Brighton Michigan), with supplies set to depart Thursday morning.
A storm system last week caused widespread flash flooding across West Virginia, washing away entire communities. See below on where and what to donate. (I just dropped off my donations in Brighton!) Thank you to our veterans for organizing this so quickly to help these flood victims.
