Someone be Blitzen's Christmas miracle and adopt him ❤️🎄🎅Early this morning officers responded to a call for a dog tied to a dumpster in a parking lot.
Upon arrival, they found this handsome 6 month old puppy, we're now referring to as Blitzen. Blitzen will be available for adoption beginning December 23rd, pending his neuter and vaccines. ❤️💚
He is very loving, but very young. He will need training.
If you are interested in adoption and would like to fill out an application please apply at➡️ www.madison-heights.org/FormCenter/Animal-Control-28/Adoption-Application-81.

I was excited to join the ribbon cutting at the Hazel Park District Library today for their new learning pods! These pods, funded by a $100,000 investment I secured in the FY23-24 state budget, will provide much-needed quiet spaces for learning, working, and collaboration. A big thank you to the library staff for all their hard work on this project and for everything they do to support the residents of Hazel Park. Libraries are the heart of our communities, and I’m proud to support them! 📚 ... See MoreSee Less

Fun Fact Friday!
Hazel Park- The origin of the name Hazel Park is attributed to Royal Oak Township Superintendent of Schools, John Benjamine. He called the area Hazel Park because of the abundance of hazelnut bushes native to the area. #FunFactFriday

The City of Madison Heights asked Rep. McFall to support Michigan opting into the federal Ground Emergency Medical Transportation (GEMT) program, and not only did he say YES, he led the charge to make it happen!
Thanks to his leadership, the GEMT funding bill passed the House last night!
🚑 GEMT provides critical federal funding to help support emergency medical transportation services in our community!
Thank you, Rep. McFall, for your dedication to our city and for fighting for the resources we need! 🙌

Had a great discussion at the Small Business Town Hall I hosted recently in partnership with the Madison Heights / Hazel Park Chamber! We tackled important topics like the changes to minimum wage, tip minimum wage, and PTO stemming from a Michigan Supreme Court decision earlier this year.
Huge thanks to Brian Calley from the Small Business Association of Michigan (SBAM), John McNamara from the Michigan Restaurant & Lodging Association, and the team from the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO) for sharing their expertise and valuable insights.
Grateful to the Southeast Michigan Construction Academy for hosting this important conversation and to our local small business owners for your thoughtful questions and engagement. Together, we're navigating these changes to support workers and businesses in our community. Let’s keep the conversation going! #supportworkers #supportsmallbusiness
