A little art, a lot of talent, and a wonderful way to spend part of the weekend!
I stopped by and spent some time at the Belleville Area Council for the Arts' 17th Annual Community Art Show, and what a great reminder that you don't have to look too far for the talent and creativity we have right here in our community!
From paintings and photography to three-dimensional and fiber art, it's wonderful to see artists of different ages and backgrounds sharing their talents. I especially love seeing opportunities for young artists to showcase their creativity alongside more experienced artists.
A big thank-you to BACA and all the volunteers, artists, and organizers who make this annual event possible. Supporting the arts means supporting creativity, self-expression, and the connections that make our communities special.
If you haven't had a chance to stop by, there's still time! The show runs through today, Sunday, October 25, at the Belleville Yacht Club, and admission is FREE. There is still time to grab a beautiful mum from Garden Fantasy at such a low price, and these mums are simply gorgeous!

This morning my team and I started our day at Aid in Milan where we learned more about the needs in our community and the important outreach they provide, along with the organizations they partner with throughout our district.
Afterwards, we headed to Kroger in Dundee to join a food drive supporting Aid in Milan’s food pantry ahead of the holiday season.
As we head into the holidays, it's important that we come together to support our neighbors and help ensure every family has access to the food they need. Food insecurity affects families throughout our communities, and the organizations working on the front lines play an important role in connecting people with resources and support.
Thank you to Aid in Milan, their community partners, and everyone who donated their time, food, and resources to make a difference. I'm grateful to see our community come together to support those in need. Every contribution helps, and this work matters all year long!

After four years of being closed, the Denton Road Bridge is finally open! This project was one of the first major issues I took on after entering office in 2023, as residents, local businesses, and public safety officials all felt the sudden impact of this closure.
I worked with Supervisor McNamara and state leaders to secure over $10 million in funding needed to get this project across the finish line, even as costs grew and plans changed.
Securing the funding was just one part of the process, and I want to thank the engineers, construction crews, county and township officials, and residents whose patience and hard work made this day possible.
We can finally stop talking about the Denton Road Bridge and start using it! Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen!

Should political ads have to show their work? I think so. That’s why today, I introduced the Political Ad Transparency and Accountability Act.

The Denton Road bridge is finally coming back! Van Buren Township recently announced an official ribbon-cutting for the bridge on Oct. 22nd.
Reopening this bridge will make it easier for residents, families, and businesses to get where they need to go. During my first term as State Representative, I was proud to secure more than $10 million in state funding to help make this project possible.
Thank you to everyone who worked to move this project forward, and especially to the residents and businesses who have been patient throughout the closure. I’m looking forward to seeing the bridge reopened and serving our community again.

It was wonderful to join the Dundee Area Senior Center yesterday for its 60th Anniversary Open House Celebration!
For 60 years, this center has been bringing people together, building lasting friendships, and providing a welcoming place for seniors to connect, stay active, and feel part of their community. Places like this make a real difference in people’s lives.
Thank you to everyone who has dedicated their time and energy to making the center such a special place over the years. Congratulations on 60 years of serving the Dundee community, and here’s to many more!
