No doubt, academic performance can be better. But we have the tools we need to improve after years of disinvestment, mismanagement and constantly changing reforms.1 CommentsComment on Facebook
Session today was no attendance and no voting while there still has not been serious movement on a state education budget. This uncertainty creates real problems for school districts around the state who are currently planning for the upcoming year. The legislature has not only a responsibility, but also a requirement in statute to pass a budget by July 1st. Had an amazing time today celebrating Juneteenth across the district! On Livernois, Black-owned businesses were having several special events, including ribbon cuttings for Pequeño Cantina (Pequeno After Dark) and Jerk at Night--be sure to check them out! No Barrier 2 Success was also holding a youth showcase, and it was wonderful to hear all about all the ways their program is helping to develop youth in our community.
