I spoke on House Resolution 92 I sponsored that declares May as Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month in the state of Michigan. More than 25 million people in the United States, including 4.6 million children, have asthma, and the numbers continue to rise. The total economic cost of asthma in the United States was $81 billion per year from 2008 to 2013. The direct cost of asthma is about $3,266 per person each year.
