Hello House District 32!

This week, House Dems are planning to reintroduce the BRITE Act legislative package.

I am proud to be a lead sponsor on this important bill package!

The BRITE Act — "Bringing Reforms for Integrity, Transparency, and Ethics" — will crack down on dark money influence, strengthen financial disclosure laws, and ensure accountability in government.

The BRITE Act is a critical step to strengthen ethics laws and hold public officials accountable. Will House Republicans step up? Transparency isn’t a partisan issue — it’s a pillar of democracy. #SunshineWeek

Thankful for your service.. best Rep ever!

Thank you for shining light into the dark corners of the oligarchy!

At both the federal and state levels, Republicans are divesting in kids, students, and schools. D.C. is dismantling the Department of Education and Michigan House Republicans support it.

Dismantling the Department of Education will send class sizes soaring, cut job training programs, make higher education more expensive and out of reach for middle-class families, take away special education services for students with disabilities and slash student civil rights protections.

House Democrats have a different plan. We want to do what works: let’s invest in our public schools so we can inspire imagination, cultivate curiosity and prepare the next generation of students to succeed.

Together with parents and allies, we will continue to organize, advocate, and mobilize so that all students have well-resourced schools that allow every student to succeed.

Just in time for Women’s History Month, the Michigan House Republicans are putting the voting rights of millions of women at risk.

Around 2.2 million Michigan women don’t have birth certificates that match their legal names. Now, Michigan House Republicans want them to pay for passports just to vote.

Their resolution could force married women to pay up to $200 just to prove their citizenship. That’s a poll tax, and this is voter suppression — plain and simple! #PinkPollTax

Nothing says “commitment to education” like the Michigan House Republicans trying to gut billions from our public schools.

Republicans are playing games, and they gave us less than 30 minutes to read through their “budget” proposal.

Just more #partyofchaos nonsense from across the aisle!

Hey District 32!

This past week, I was fortunate enough to sit down with representatives advocating on behalf of Food Gatherers and Growing Hope. We discussed issues dealing with access to food that are impacting our region.

Many of our neighbors are struggling to put food on their tables. Many of our friends are cutting back to unhealthier options that are generally cheaper, just to get by. If you have a little extra time or resources, please consider getting involved at your local food pantry to get a better idea of how important these food pantries are, and give back to our community.

Hello House District 32!

Worried about the price of eggs? By taking action to combat the avian flu, we can lower the cost and increase overall affordability in Michigan.

We are taking action at the state level by introducing three appropriations bills that give MDARD, MDHHS and the DNR funds to test for bird flu in livestock, humans, and wild animals respectively.

We need to listen to our public health experts and economists and take the necessary action to prevent the next pandemic and lower costs for Michigan families.

Viruses and birds do not respect state lines. We need a federal coordinated response to combat the avian flu.

Hello House District 32!

With the implementation of increased tariffs, uncertainty of affordability looms. Michiganders know that tariffs are a tax on America’s working class.

Tariffs will raise the price of everyday needs like gas and groceries. People should not get stuck with the bill from the Republican chaos. Republicans are cozying up with their billionaire buddies and screwing over the working class.

House Democrats are focused on giving people what they want: lower costs, an affordable life and job creation. We stand for affordability and the success of Michigan hard working families. Hiked prices are a burden Michigan families can’t afford!
