I’m thrilled to share that the City of Ypsilanti has been awarded a Shared Streets and Spaces Grant through the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT)! 🚶♀️🚲🚌
This grant is part of MDOT’s $6.5 million initiative to support projects that make our communities more walkable, bikeable, and transit-friendly, creating safer and more accessible streets for people of all ages and abilities. 🌟
🏙️ What does this mean for Ypsilanti?
✅ Quick-build projects designed to improve mobility and connectivity.
✅ Streets reimagined as civic spaces that support everyone, no matter how they get around.
✅ A step toward equitable, innovative, and sustainable urban design.
This highly competitive program had over 40 expert reviewers considering innovation, equity, community input, and alignment with state and local goals. Ypsilanti stood out, and I couldn’t be prouder of our community! 💙

……. Blinks….. uhhhh Xylazine test strips are still illegal across the state and we are awaiting 5178 and 5179 to decrim them and possession- as well as provide health services. Also, banning a substance only criminalizes it more. We have more and more Xylazine than ever.
Our children can’t even read with 3rd grade Mstep scores as all time low, but sure let’s feed them birth control at school and teach them gender ideology as priority with bills such as 6068

The bill pushes trans agenda, waives clergy involvement, gives kids contraceptives behind their parent’s back, teaches masturbation and calls abortion “family planning”. There’s a reason most everything went red— this (along with any measures which seek to hide school content from parents) will lead to a mass exodus from MI public schools
