May is Military Appreciation Month, a time to honor the service and sacrifice of those who have served our country. Thank you to all of our service members and veterans.
Supporting veterans also means making sure they have access to effective mental health treatment when they come home. That’s why I introduced HB 4686, legislation to decriminalize psilocybin for Michiganders diagnosed with PTSD, including our veterans.
Research continues to show promising results for psilocybin-assisted treatment in helping people living with PTSD, and we should be willing to explore every option that can help people heal.

It’s #TeacherAppreciationWeek in Michigan. Our teachers give their time, energy, and hearts to their students, often buying supplies with their own money and staying long hours to help kids succeed. Let’s thank them with more than words. Let’s fund our schools.
Each month, our office is proud to recognize a Teacher of the Month. If you’d like to nominate an outstanding educator in our community, please reach out to us at [email protected] or (517) 373-0140.

Turns out it wasn’t an earthquake—just a Michigander hitting a pothole hard enough to register on the Richter scale. 🚧😉😅

On International Firefighters’ Day, we recognize the courage and sacrifice of those who put their lives on the line to protect our communities.
That service can take a lasting toll. I introduced HB 5953 to help ensure firefighters facing PTSD have access to the mental health support they deserve.
We are grateful for their service and committed to standing with them.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by today’s 3rd Annual Mother’s Day Diaper Drive with the Madison Heights Food Pantry and donated to help local families.
The Madison Heights Food Pantry does incredible work helping families across both Oakland and Macomb Counties, and I’m grateful for all they do for our community.
A special thank you to Ann Erickson Gault - Oakland County Commissioner for coming by and contributing, and to the incredible volunteers at the pantry for everything they do.
I'm also incredibly grateful to AETNA and CVS for their generous donation of diapers and support of this year’s drive. Thank you all for helping make a difference for local families this Mother’s Day. ... See MoreSee Less
