Ms. Weiss, Please vote NO on bill 6068. Stop the overreach on kids, learn where parental guidance and rights are compared to the constant overstepping. The bill pushes trans agenda, waives clergy involvement, gives kids contraceptives behind their parent’s back, teaches masturbation and calls abortion “family planning”. There’s a reason most everything went red— this (along with any measures which seek to hide school content from parents) will lead to a mass exodus from MI public schools
Our children can’t even read with 3rd grade Mstep scores as all time low, but sure let’s feed them birth control at school and teach them gender ideology as priority with bills such as 6068
Yom Kippur invites us to take a moment for introspection. Whether it’s through fasting or just taking time for ourselves, let’s use this day to reflect on our values and how we can align our efforts with them. Wishing everyone a meaningful day.

State Representative Matt Koleszar and I were honored to be selected as the Michigan Association of Superintendents & Administrators as Legislators of the Year at their conference last week. In addition to our plaques, we were also awarded with wrestling belts for our efforts to advance pro-public education policy.
We really earned our belts today with the passage of our bills 5503 and 5803, legislation we worked hard to get across the finish line. These bills provide critical investments back into the classroom and lower costs for teachers. The investments in mental health and school safety will help ensure that all of our students have what they need to be successful.

We must do better for our schools, and Michigan House Democrats are up to the task. Today we’re announcing a total of $150 million for schools to put toward safety and mental health resources, so they can meet the needs of all kids, parents, and teachers.

Today SB 911 passed the legislature! This bill will put $600 million back into schools and classrooms around our state and builds upon the state budget that was passed earlier this year.
