To help improve access for individuals seeking substance use disorder treatment (SUD) options, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) has developed a new mapping tool to help individuals across Michigan better access SUD treatment.

Registration for Light up Livonia is open until Dec. 8. Once that is complete, the Light Up Livonia Holiday Lights Contest entries map will be available for people to tour the lights. The map will be online through the beginning of the new year.

November is National Adoption Month, and I was honored to again attend the Michigan Supreme Court’s annual Michigan Adoption Day celebration
As the chair of the House Committee on Families, Children and Seniors, I am laser focused on improving the state's foster care and adoption system for children and families.
I'm truly grateful to the families who received the young people into their forever families and pray that more caring people will open their hearts and homes to other children like those adopted this year.

I’m proud to stand with my colleagues in passing legislation to keep firearms out of polling places. Now on its way to Gov. Whitmer’s desk, this bill brings us closer to ensuring every voter feels safe and secure at the polls.

The Protect Michigan Kids bill package, House Bill 6002-6006 and 6022, are part of a comprehensive bill package that will improve and strengthen Michigan’s tobacco prevention laws. These proposals reflect evidence-based best practices and have been implemented in many other states. It’s time for us to catch up.
