The Biden-Harris Administration has a plan to expand access to contraception — that includes coverage for no-cost over-the-counter contraception without a Rx for the first time in our nation’s history. The “Take Control of your Birth Control” initiative is making reproductive health care more accessible to Michiganders, no matter your income or zip code. michigan.gov/takecontrol

The recent report highlighting disparities in legal representation for CPS cases shows the urgent need for reform. As a strong advocate for justice and equity, I’m committed to working toward a system where all families, regardless of their background, receive the fair and equal representation they deserve. No family should face life-changing decisions without proper legal support. The City of Livonia conducts annual testing of tap water in homes for lead and copper. During testing, they collected samples from 30 of the 67 homes known to have lead service lines. Four of the homes were found to exceed the acceptable level of lead, which is 15 parts per billion. When this happens, communities are instructed by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) to provide a public notice.

If you are a Livonia residential water customer, please visit CheckYourPipesLivonia.org. There you can find instructions on how to determine the material of your water service line and a list of frequently asked questions. You can also make an appointment to have a City representative come to your home for an assessment. You can also contact the Department of Public Works by calling (734) 466-2019.
