LANSING, Mich., May 9, 2024 — The Michigan House of Representatives passed its version of the fiscal 2024-25 budget today. It includes substantial investments at the local level in making a difference for Michiganders across the state.

House Democrats continue backing up their promises to invest in communities across the state by increasing opportunities. Stronger communities mean stronger Michiganders. After voting on the budget, state Rep. Helena Scott (D-Detroit) issued the following statement:

“We’re making necessary investments that are locally focused. Everything we do in Lansing is for the people we serve back home in our districts. We are entrusted with the vision to meet their needs, and this budget reflects our commitment to making everyday living safer and more affordable. We’re making room for bigger and better things for all Michiganders by putting the money right back into the communities to help people live their best lives.”
