LANSING – State Representative Robert Kosowski (D-Westland) was officially sworn in for his first term as state representative for the 16th District of the Michigan House of Representatives during a ceremony in the House Chamber at noon today.

“Having worked for the city of Westland for 20 years, I understand the needs of municipalities and the many services they provide Michigan residents,” Kosowski said. “I will work hard to make sure they have the resources they need to help our community.”

House Assistant Clerk Rich Brown swore in the 51 Democratic members of the Michigan House in their oath of office in the constitutionally mandated event that kicked off the 2013-2014 legislative session.

The representative’s wife, Elizabeth Kosowski, and Wayne-Westland Fire Chief Michael Reddy joined Kosowski at the event.
