LANSING — State Representative Leslie Love (D-Detroit) hosted two first responders from the 10th House District on Thursday as the House of Representatives conducted its annual Sept. 11 memorial service to commemorate the 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States and honor first responders from Michigan.

Love welcomed Sgt. Shirley Bledsoe and Officer Michael Crowder from the Detroit Police Department’s 12th Precinct to Lansing to mark the 15th anniversary of the devastating attacks.

“We should honor the sacrifice and commitment to protect the public safety these men and women make every day, but I’m so happy we take this public opportunity to honor their sacrifice,” Love said. “While people run away from danger, these men and women run toward it. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank and honor all the local first responders who do so much for the communities they serve.”
