LANSING — Rep. Robert Wittenberg (D-Oak Park) has been named the Democratic Vice Chairman of the Michigan House of Representatives’ Financial Liability Reform Committee. He was also placed on the House Health Policy and Insurance committees.

“Being appointed a Democratic vice chairman of a House Committee in my first term is a great honor, and I will work diligently to serve the people of Michigan in that role,” Wittenberg said. “The committee considers potential policies that involve government finance, such as bond and pension matters, which are critically important to our state. I’m enthusiastic about the task of the committee and ready to get to work.”

Wittenberg will also serve on the Insurance and Health Policy committees – areas in which he has previous experience. Before joining the Legislature, Wittenberg worked as a licensed life and health insurance agent and helped people navigate their health care coverage options under the Affordable Care Act.

“I’m grateful to be given committee assignments where I can best put my knowledge and experience to work,” Wittenberg said. “I take my responsibility to work hard for the people of my district and all Michiganders very seriously, and I look forward to my work in committees and on the House floor.”
