TRAVERSE CITY, Mich., Sept. 26, 2023 — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced last week the award of competitive grant funding for over 40 county land banks and municipalities for blight elimination expenses. The Leelanau County Land Bank Authority received more than $750,000 from the fiscal 2023 state budget. State Rep. Betsy Coffia (D-Traverse City) issued the following statement applauding the funds:

“Land banks are one of the best tools we have to spur redevelopment of unused, blighted property. I’m thrilled that Leelanau County was selected to receive this grant funding, and I look forward to seeing what opportunities arise for the people and small businesses of our region.”
