$250,000 for project included in supplemental budget bills passed by House and Senate

“This building isn’t just an eyesore, the structural integrity poses an increasingly significant safety risk to those in the surrounding area as it continues to degrade,” said Haadsma. “The people of Albion, especially those in the neighborhood near the foundry, have been waiting for this for a long time and I’m pleased to see it finally getting done.”
Pitsch Companies Inc. has been preparing the site for demolition this week. Demolition of the dilapidated building, which has been vacant for more than two decades, will be completed in June.

Jim Haadsma enough for working hard to secure funding for this important project,” said Krista Trout-Edwards, executive director of the Calhoun County Land Bank Authority. “This project is truly a team effort thanks to Rep. Haadsma’s efforts and support from the city of Albion, Calhoun County Treasurer Brian Wensauer and the county board.”
