Dear Neighbor,
I am honored to serve as your state representative for the 29th House District and am proud to be a strong advocate in Lansing for the residents and families of our community. Please encourage your friends and family to stay connected and subscribe to this e-newsletter. It will keep you up-to-date on legislation and policies coming from the Capitol, as well as my coffee hours and other community events I will host so we can get together face-to-face.

Community Recap
Senior Meet and Greet
August 4 was a truly GREAT day for the residents of the 29th District as we shared our concerns about education, the economy, the state budget, autism and our criminal justice system. Thank you to everyone, from Auburn Hills to Keego Harbor, who took time to share their concerns with us!
Pontiac Back to School Rally
Thank you to everyone from the Pontiac School District for their persistence in providing opportunities for our children!
Mobile Dental Unit
On Aug. 7, Honor Community Health and Delta Dental Foundation brought their mobile dental unit to Pontiac. I am working toward the swift passage of House Bill 4223 so more dental services can be provided as a part of early screening to children entering our school system.
Honor Community Health and Delta Dental are already doing this important work by providing these critical services to our teens and dental information and resources at community events. I would also like to extend my thanks to the Baldwin Center for hosting this significant floss cutting ceremony.
Giving Back to the Community
Giving back is what we do, so thank you to Pontiac School District for supporting our homeless children with the essentials they need during the school year. I would also like to thank the Oakland County Poverty and Homelessness Task Force for their donation in support of our children.
Legislative Walk
On Aug. 9, we met at Herrington Elementary in Pontiac to walk the community and connect with our neighbors. Thanks to my special guests Reps. Rabhi, Yancey, Love, Whitsett, Anthony and Bolden for coming out to help. During the walk we handed out surveys to ensure that I can best represent your priorities in Lansing. If you would like a survey or want to join me next time in getting to know the families of our community please contact my office by email or by phone at (517) 373-0475.
Thank you for taking the time to read this newsletter. I hope that you found the information helpful.
In Service,
State Representative Brenda Carter
