Dear Neighbor,
I wanted to take a moment to wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving. Each and every day, I am thankful for the opportunity to serve as your state representative.
With COVID-19 cases at an all-time high in Michigan, it is important that everyone follows the proper safety precautions while they are celebrating Thanksgiving this year. Michigan Chief Medical Executive Dr. Joneigh Khaldun and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have recommended that people not attend Thanksgiving dinners or celebrations with anyone outside of their household.
While it is not safe to gather in groups this year, there are plenty of low-risk activities to help us enjoy this unusual holiday season. Have a virtual dinner with family and friends, watch your favorite football team play from home, take advantage of online holiday shopping deals, or do contactless gift basket drop-offs at your family and friend’s houses.
I look forward to continuing to work with you to make our communities and state the best they can be even in these uncertain times. While legislative offices remain closed to the public, my team and I are still providing responsive service as we work from home. Please don’t hesitate to contact us at (517) 373-0587 or by email at karahope@house.mi.gov if we can help.
In the meantime, have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.
Sincerely,
Kara Hope
State Representative
